Way too hot!

All I have to say that this is way too hot and humid for me and we are in for a week of a heat wave! Last night I totally enjoyed the thunder and lightening storm last night.
Darcy has taken Sheba up to the lake...he will be bringing Speedo home at the end of the week. He did get 3 days of work on a contract so that was great but then the car needed the brakes done so it was in and then out again.
Since my last posting...its mainly the weather. We had great weather on the 17th for the summer carnival with Tony Prophet. Last weekend, Darcy and I went for a little outing to Steveston.
I have been focusing on work and wings registration and not much else. Helga had us over for a very lovely evening party with wine and a special dinner called Raclet (I think) where we cooked on little mini-fry pans. It is also Joanne's 50th on July 30 so we had a birthday party for her as well. I will put more photos on my facebook album.

Last weekend Chrissy also did foils and highlighted my hair to get rid of all the greyness and she did such an awesome job. I am so glad that she can do that for me now. She has had clients at school and albeit nervous it is all part of the training experience.
A short week ahead as we head into the BC Day long weekend.

July already!

I can hardly believe that I have not written on my blog for so many weeks!
To catch up...well, Canada Day has come and gone. We spent a weekend at the Golden Spike Swim meet to volunteer with the Port Moody Aquarians just for old times' sake. It was fun in a way. I did leave earlier on the Saturday because I had a Cantonese Opera Concert at Glen Pine to oversee that night.
The Cantonese Opera night was a success - the Great Room was packed with over 100 people and it was like being in a Hong Kong variety show. Hot water...I cannot believe how much hot water jeannie, heather and I were pouring out. It was fun because we had helga with us too cutting and plating the wraps and making the fruit tarts.
Darcy and Speedo left for the lake on Canada Day to get Caiti settled in as she was starting her Grand Forks hospital stint. Guess there are some big projects to get done as well.
Chrissy and I spent the week on our own.
On Thursday, it was my turn to get my hair done so Chrissy could get some marks for cutting and styling during friends and family week.It was actually fun going downtown and getting the full salon treatment. I posted my pics on facebook in an album called Hair by Christina. First I had a shampoo, cut and a straight style and then it was on to the the Farrah Fawcett curls which were very nicely done! This photo of the curls before they were styled out. Those curling irons are amazing that she owns. Her entire bag of tools travel with her and so she can do hair anywhere. She has alrwady made an offer to volunteer her time and services next grad to any girls unable to afford to get their hair done in the morning of grad with Ms. Tsui if it is required.

Then this week, I was also found by my Grade 6 friends...and it brought back a flood of memories that had remained dormant for 34 years. The old class photo made me smile and it was such a thrill. So, today, the sunshine is back and I have a summer sizzle Hawaiian Luau dance tonight to run at Glen Pine so its working tonight.
